A couple of months ago I had the pleasure of shooting with two guys. Two of the most fun shoots I've done.
The first night was unexpected.
I sat on my laptop late one night. An old friend, Lachy, turned up on facebook. We had been talking about a photoshoot for some time. The only issue was, I was at uni full time, and he was working as a chef full-time. Including nights. If we were ever going to make it happen, it would be that night, at 1.30am. I gathered my gear, kissed and thanked Luke for the spontaneous use of his car, drove to Lachy's, and then we made magic.
The second night was also unexpected. A new friend, Kris, accepted my request to be my subject for a second shoot. He is a very talented photographer. I looked forward to the sunday afternoon for weeks. Sunday afternoon came, and my head pounded. My concentration was gone, as was my motivation. My creativity felt totally and absolutely stiffled, yet somehow the photographs were ok. Perhaps giving a guitarist my guitar to play with was a good idea, because Kris seemed totally relaxed.
Here are some of the shots. I quite like them.
